The Legend of Lord ParasuRama:
The Lord was born to sage Jamadhagni and Renuka devi. Lord ParasuRama is the epitome of valour and great devotion towards His parents. Initially, His parents named Him as 'BhargavaRama'. He did austere penance lasting over ten years in the Himalayas. The Lord Shiva blessed Him and gave His ‘Dhanus’(Bow) and the ‘Parasu’(Axe) to ‘BhargavaRama’ . He was renaned as ‘ParasuRama’ by Lord Shiva Himself.

Lord ParasuRama is the symbol of strength, knowledge and morality.

The avatar of Lord Parasurama is not a direct avatar. The Lord Vishnu entered the soul of a Brahmin Son of Jamadagni by ‘Anupravesa’. The other nine avatars are called ‘Amsa’ avatars.

The ten avatars of Lord Vishnu are called as ‘Dasavataras’ and these avatars are meant to re-establish righteousness and destroy tyranny and injustice in the world. They are Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parasumrama, Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, Buddha and Kalki.
