Shri Narasimha Jayanthi is an Hindu Festival which is being celebrated on the occasion of birth of 'Sri Narasimha Swamy', an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As per the Lunar calander this festival is celebrated on Chaturdasi(fourteen Day) of the bright half of the month of Vaishaka(April/May). Shri Narasimha Jayanthi is known as ‘Narasimha Chaturdasi’.

The Lord Narasimha Swamy is the fourth(4th) incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that on this auspicious day ‘Vaishaka Shukla Chaturdasi’, the Lord Vishnu was taken avatar and appeared in the form of ‘NaraSimha’(The Half Man-The Half Lion) to kill the demon ‘Hiranyakasiphu’ and to save ‘Prahalada’(God blessed child & a great devotee of Lord Vishnu). He is also known as 'Bhaktha Prahalada' and He was the son of demon ‘Hiranyakasipu'.
Significance: Shri Narasimha Jayathi Vratam(Pooja) ans special religious rituals are observed in the all ‘Sri NasimhaSimha Swamy’ temples and in all the temples of Lord Vishnu.
Devotees do fasting all the day and perform special puja's, Bhajans and recite Sri Laskhmi Narasimha Stotrams with great devotion. It is believed that if any good work starts on the day of ‘Sri Narasimha Jayanthi’ leads to be a great success and well growth.
Great Religious Importance Day: If the day ‘Vaishaka Shukla Charturdasi’ falls with the combination of ‘Swathi Nakshatram’ and 'Saturday’, it will be a great auspicious day to the Lord Vishnu and many good things may happen if devotees pray the Lord Narsimha’ with utter devotion and Bhakthi on this day.
