Srisailam Temple is the abode of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bramarambika Devi. This Temple is the Second Jyotirlinga Temple among the 12 Jyotirlingas Temples in India. The temple in which both Shakti Peethas and Jyotirlinga are Co-located.The important festivals of Srisailam temple are Mahasivarathri Brahmotsavams and Karthika Brahmotsavams.
This year 2015, Srisailam MahaSivaratri Annual Brahmotsavams starts with Ankurarpanam on February 10, 2015 (Tuesday) and concludes with Sayanotsavam(Ekanta Seva) on February 20, 2015(Friday) for a period of 11 days. The most important Sevas during Maha Shivaratri Brahmotsavams are Edurkolu, Pagalamkarana, Lingodbhava, Kalyanotavam, Rathotsavam and Sayanotsavam.
The main attraction of Maha Shivaratri Celebrations in Srisailam is Lingodbhava Maha Rudrabhishekam where in 11 priests conduct rituals for three hours after 10pm. Parllel to it, Pagalankarana(Tying of Loin Cloth) around the temple towers is performed.
Every year, 69 year old handloom weaver, Prudhivi Venkateswarlu from remote Hastinapuram near Devangarpuri, Chirala Mandal, Guntur District, gets the Privilege of weaving the cloth which required for Lingodbhava and decorating Lord Shiva during the annual celebrations. This is the 48th year(2015) in succession.
During the period of Brahmotsavams, starting from 7am onwards various rituals such as Chamundeswara Pooja, Nitya Homas, Baliharanas, Japanustanamulu, Visesha Archanas to the Lord Shiva and Navavarana Archana,Rudra Homam and Chandi Homam to the Goddess Sri Bhramarambhika will be performed

- Srisailam Devasthanam has cancelled All Arjita Sevas from February 10, 2015 (Tuesday) to February 20, 2015(Friday)
- During Brahmotsavams, VIP darshan timings: 10:00am to 11:00am and 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
- Cultural, Traditional and Dharmika Programs will be conducted during Brahmotsavams in the temple premises.
