TTD "Adhyayanotsavam Festival 2014-2015" in Tirumala Temple. Meaning of "Adhyayanan" & "Alwar Divya Prabandham"

Adyayana Utsavam Festival begins from December 21, 2014 to January 14, 2015 for a period of 25 days in Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Tirumala. Usually Every Year the Adyayanotsavam Festival will be commenced 11 days prior to the Vaikunta Ekadasi in the month of Margasira(Telugu Month) [December/January].
The "Adyayatanotsavam Festival" is being celebrated for a period of 25 days. First 11 days before Vaikunta Ekadasi are known as Pagalpattu Days and next 10 days(after Vaikunta Ekadasi) are called as Rapattu Days. On 22nd day there is  a Kanninun Siruttambu, On 23rd day there will be Ramanuja Nutrandadi, on 24th day Sri Varaha Swamy Sattumora and on 25th day there will be Tanniramudu Utsavam which concludes the end of Adhyayanotsavam Festival.

Meaning of the word  "Adhyayanam":
The prefix "Adhi" means to Study, to Learn by Heart, to remember. "Adhi" also known as to Teach, to Declare and Understand. From the root word "Adhi", Adhyayanam was derived and its meaning is Learning, Studying and Remberance of the Vedic Passages.

What is Adhyayana Utsavam Festival?
The Adyayana Utsavam is a festival recited of Vedas by Group of Adhyapaks(Teachers or Gurus) who have mastered the study of Vedas.

Traditionally, Adhyana Utsavam means reciting(studying) of Nalayira Divya Prabandham in front of God. This is called as DRAVIDA VEDAM. It is believed that people will get Health,Wealth and Happiness by listening the DRAVIDA VEDAM. The Adhyayana Utsavams are celebrated in all the Vaishnava Temples
during Dhanurmasam(December/January).

What is Alwar Divya Prabandham?
Divya Prabandham is a collection of  4000 Tamil Verses(Hymes) composed and completed by 12 ALWARS (Sri Vaishnava great Poet Saints) before 8th century. All 4000 Pasurams consist of  Tamil Verses(Hymes) praising of Lord MahaVishnu. Divya Prabandham is also known as Nalayira("Nalayira" means "4 Thousand" in Tamil Language) Divya Prabandham.

Adhyayana Utsavam in Srivari Temple, Tirumala:
The festival begins in Tirumala Temple from December 21, 2014 to January 14, 2015. This festival is conducted in Ranganayakula Mandapam, Inside the tirumala temple. All 4000 pasurams will be recited by Jeeyar Priests and Vaishnava Preists. Bhagvat Ramanujam, Vishwaksenadhi and Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy along with his consorts Goddess Sridevi and Bhudevi are resided in Ranganayakula Mandapam.

It is believed that Lord blesses all the people by listening the Nalayari Divya Prabandham happily.
