Dharmapuri Temple is the abode of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. The main deity of the temple is Sri Narasimha Swamy along with his consort Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi. The holy mandir is located on the banks of River Godavari(also known as Dakshana Ganga) in a temple town DHARMAPURI in Karimnagar district, Telangana.
The river Godavari flows West to East but in the temple town, Dharmapuri, the river Godavari flows North to South and hence the river Godavari also known as Dakshina Vahini(South flowing).
The temple was constructed by "Sri Dharmavarma", king of Dharmapuri. He was a great devotee of Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
