After marriage, the Lord wanted to go to Tirumala along with his consort Sri Padmavathi Devi. On the way the lord went to Agastya Ashram where he was advised by the Sage Agastya not to go to Tirumal Hills immediately. Having blessings of the Sage, the Lord stayed in this village for a period of 6 months and then reached Tirumala Hills.

History and Significance of the Srinivasamangapuram Temple:
There is no clear evidence by whom and when the temple was constructed. The temple was ruined due to the invasions of Sultan of Delhi in 1324.

According to the temple inscriptions, Sri Tallapaka Chinna Tirumalacharya, the Grandson of Sri Annamacharyulu renovated the temple. Sri Chinna Tirumalayya consecrated the idols of Venkateswara Swamy, Nacchiar(Deveri), Anatha, Garuda, Vishwaksena, Alwars, Udaivars and Sri Annmayya. The shrine was renovated by Talapakka Chinna Tiruvengatanatha in the 16th century. The temple is under the control of Tallapaka Family for a long period.

Later the temple was under the control of Archaeological Department, Government of India for another long period. The temple regained its glory in 1940s.
