The Holy Temple town Dharmasthala, is situated on the banks of river Nethravathi, in the Belthangadi taluk of the Dakshana Kannada district, Karnataka State, India. The presiding(main) deity of the Dharmasthala temple is Sri Manjunatha which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, in the form of Lingam. The other deities in the temple are Ammanavaru, Chandranath and the Dharma Daivas (Guardian Spirits of Dharma) namely Kalarahu, Kalarkayi, Kumaraswamy and Kanyakumari.
The most important annual festivals in the temple are 1)Maha Nadavali and 2)Lakshadeepa- the festival of lights(November–December)

Dharmasthala is nestled in the
middle of hills and forests which makes this temple city a beautiful place to visit. The temple architecture is in Vijayanagara style which is famous for its vivid designing and beautiful carvings of the
Lords. This temple was built during 1608A.D.
Sri Manjunatha Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord
Shiva which has a unique Lingam of Lord Shiva that is worshipped by the pilgrims. The unique feature
of the Lingam is that it absorbs all the water that is poured on it.
The temple is run by a Jain Butt family called the "Pergades" . The unique feature of the temple is that though it belongs to Shaiva sect of Hinduism, the poojas and rituals are conducted by Hindu priests of Vaishnava sect of Hinduism.
Dharmasthala Temple Timings:
Morning: Devotees may avail Darshan, Pooja & Prasadam from 6-30 a.m. to 2-00 p.m.
Abhisheka, Archane will be held from 8-30 a.m. to 11-00 a.m.
Evening: Darshan, Pooja will be held from 7-00 p.m. to 8-30 p.m.
