Srisailam Temple:Abode of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi

Srisailam Temple is the abode of Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bramaramba Devi. The temple is located on the banks of river Krishna, at a distance of 215Km from Hyderabad. According to Hindu puranas, there is no re-birth for Human Being, if the people have darshan of Srisailam Temple,drink water in Kedhar Kshetram and Died in Kasi Kshetram. In this temple, Lord SriRama and Goddess Sita installed Sahasra(thousand) Lingams. 

According to Hindu Mythology, Lord SriRama only consecrated large number of Lord Shiva Lingas in SriRama Avatar when compare to remaining(9 out of 10) Avatars of Lord Vishnu. By this way, Lord SriRama showed the Significance and Greatness of Shiva Linga Prastistha to the People of World.
In India there are only three Temples in which both Shakti Peethas and Jyotirlingas are Co-located.1)Srisailam, 2)Kashi(Varanasi), and 3)Ujjain. In Andhra Pradesh State one and only Jyotirlina Ksethra is Srisailam Temple and is the Second Jyotirlinga Temple among the 12 Jyotirlingas Temples in India
Main Temple-Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple
In the temple, Lord Mallikarjuna(Lord Shiva) is in the form Jyotirlingam. Irrespective of caste, creed and religion every one can touch and feel the lingam(Lord Shiva manifested himself in the form of Lingam)
On the right side of Lord Mallikarjuna, Ratnagiri Ganesh Temple is located inside the temple.It is tradition and believed that everyone should have a darshan of Ratnagiri Ganesh before having darshan of  Lord Mallikarjuna.
On the left side of Lord Mallikarjuna, VeeraBhadra Swamy with his consort Bhadrakali, Temple is loacted.
Beside the Main Temple, old Lord Mallikarjuna Lingam and Sahasra Lingam are available and were consecrated by Pandavas and  Lord ShriRama respectively.
In the East side of old Mallikarjuna Temple, very Big Tree called Triphalla Tree where Bhagavan Dattatreya did penance.

Skandapuranam says that the Srisailam Ksethra is AstadalaPadma. It means the Srisailam Temple has Eight Temples in Eight Directions(East,South,West,North,South-East,South-West,North-West,North-East).

In the North - UmaMaheswaram
In the South-East : Somasila
In the South-West : Puspagiri
In the North-West : Sangameswaram

Goddess Bhramaramba Devi Temple
After Lord Mallikarjuna Darshan, pilgrims should have the darshan of Goddess Bhramarambha Devi. In Bhramaramba Temple, we can see Sahasra(thousand) Shiva Lingam installed by Goddess Sita Devi. In original, Goddess Bhramaramba stand on with her eight hands wearing 8 weapons and placing her leg on the Demon Mahishasura. Due to Alankarana(Alamkar) by the Temple priests, it looks like that Goddess seated with her two hands.
