Kumbh Mela Dates - Maha Kumbha Mela 2013 Celebrations in Allahabad(Prayag)

Maha Kumbh Mela 2013 is celebrated in Allahabad from January 27,2013(Sunday) to February 25, 2013 (Monday).
Allahabad or City of God in Persian Language, also known as PRAYAG is situated in the Southern part of the Uttarpradesh State, India. It is located 238kilometers, South of Uttarpradesh state capital Luknow. The ancient name of the city is PRAYAG and is believed that Lord Brahma offered his first Sacrifice after creating the World.

Allahabad is one of four places of the mass Hindu Pilgrimage KUMBH MELA. It has a great importance in Hindu Scriptures for it is situated at Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga(Ganges), Yamuna and the ancient Saraswati River. The Allahabad(Prayag) Kumbha Mela is the largest and holiest of all melas and is believed to be the most auspicious.
